Attack On Trump Hotel In Las Vegas

On New Year's Day, an explosion occurred involving a Tesla Cybertruck outside Donald Trump's hotel in Las Vegas, leading to the death of Matthew Livelsberger, identified as a former U.S. Army Green Beret. Livelsberger, who had served at Fort Bragg, had an extensive military career from 2006, with service in countries like Afghanistan, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Georgia, and Congo.

According to Fox News, Livelsberger was an operations sergeant in the Special Forces, on leave from his station with the 10th Special Forces Group in Germany. An Army spokesperson detailed his service record, noting his transition from active duty to the National Guard and then to the Army Reserve before returning to active duty.

The same day, another horrific event unfolded in New Orleans, where Shamsud-Din Bahar Jabbar drove into a crowd, killing at least 15 people. Despite the coincidental timing, FBI officials have stated there's "no definitive link" between the two incidents as investigations are ongoing.

Livelsberger was known to be active on LinkedIn, where he once commented on student debt, suggesting government responsibility, as reported by Newsweek. The Cybertruck involved was rented through the Turo app in Colorado, but Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill withheld the renter's identity.

The construction of the Cybertruck played a significant role in mitigating the explosion's impact. Sheriff McMahill explained that the truck's design contained the blast, preventing more severe damage to the hotel's surroundings. The explosion was caused by gasoline canisters and fireworks, not a fault of the vehicle itself. Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed on X, stating that all vehicle telemetry was standard at the time of the incident.
